“Just two years ago we moved to Steyning – my wife and I, a downsizing collection of furniture, a cat and a car. We arrived in eager anticipation of a new and exciting life exploring Steyning and the West Sussex countryside. Unfortunately, we were all too soon joined by “ill health” and sadly we were obliged to say “goodbye” to the car. Suddenly, without transportation of our own, we were facing a very difficult and limited experience of life in Steyning. Thankfully, however, we were introduced to Steyning Good Neighbours and our lifestyle improved dramatically. We were welcomed into a caring voluntary organisation which could not have been more helpful and sympathetic to our transportation needs. It is now as though we have our own personal chauffeur. As one of our neighbours said,  ‘If you are lucky enough to live in Steyning then you are lucky enough’, to which I would add ‘if you are lucky enough to work with ‘Good Neighbours’ then you really are lucky enough’ ”.

“Easy to join. Booking your journey is efficient and friendly, the drivers are courteous, punctual, reliable and very helpful. The fee is affordable  and it makes the journey pleasant.”

“My sincere thanks go to the wonderful volunteer drivers who escorted me to and from Brighton Eye Hospital after surgery. I feel I have made new friends and I actually enjoyed my weekly post-operative appointments thanks to these  generous people. We are so lucky to live in this wonderful town called Steyning.”

“Good Neighbours is an excellent organisation, easy to operate and considerate in the way its volunteers carry things out. For a handicapped person, like me, it is a vital service. Efficiency, kindness and patience are its watchwords.”

“I am fortunate that I have not needed the services of the Steyning Good Neighbours too frequently -however when I have done so I have found them all, from the people that take the calls to the drivers really helpful and efficient. I live in a retirement complex and am aware of many of the residents here who have also had reason to use these services and they are always surprised to learn that such a service exists and are always happy with their experiences to the extent that if kept waiting at hospitals the drivers never seem to mind and I and they are so grateful to the whole team.”
